The Falmouth Neighbourhood Development Plan has been successful at Examination. The NDP information was sent to the Independent Examiner on 18 October 2019 and the Examiner issued the final Examination Report to Cornwall Council on 19 December 2019.
On 30th April 2020 Cornwall Council announced that the Falmouth Neighbourhood Development Plan is modified in accordance with the Examiner’s recommendations, allowing Cornwall Council to now proceed to referendum on the making of the Neighbourhood Development Plan.
However, under the current national restriction on elections, due to the impact of Covid 19, the Plan cannot proceed to Referendum until 6 May 2021.
The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government have updated planning guidance to set out that neighbourhood plans awaiting referendum can be given significant weight in decision-making.
